Tom presently lives between Paris and New York. When not shooting he can be found doing laps in Central Park or the Bois de Vincennes on one of his vintage racing bikes. He loves to cook, and his wife Michiko and daughter Maya are his biggest fans. His favorite cuisine is Italian.
His fluency in that language has helped him expand his stock of recipes.
A native New Yorker, Tom graduated with honors from the School of Visual Arts where he received a BFA in photography. While at school he exhibited his works in galleries in Manhattan, including a one-man show at the Camera Club of New York. His career in fashion began by assisting James Moore while still enrolled at SVA, and then a seven month stint as 1st assistant to Bill King, and finally working with Steven Meisel.
Tom now contributes regularly to fashion magazines in France, the U.S. and abroad. He has an extensive list of advertising clients as well. Celebrity work is one of his favorite challenges. He recently exhibited several personal works in the Musee des Arts Decoratifs at the Louvre in Paris.
Tom considers himself to be one of the lucky ones by making a living out of what he likes doing best…making images.
